Hi all-
Here is the meeting minutes from last meeting
Recap of summer/last year
President Celeste has set aside $30,000 for sustainable audit. Planning some thank you action for it.
Campus Sustainable Council has expanded its capacity, and number of students getting involved has also expanded.
Bruce Coriell, our Chaplain is now our new Sustainable Coordinator. We will be working with him a lot this year.
World Affairs
There will be a cooperate-based sustainable energy/living forum with speaker on Oct. 5. This is ways down our planning ability time, but there is a plan to get some poster board information about CC (and other college around here). More information will be discussed in the next meeting.
Food Chained
There will be a lecture on Sept. 12 (in WES Room at 6:30pm)and discussion in Sacred Grounds on Sept. 13 (TBA). For more details, please look at Food Chained info page below.
CC Farm info
They are holding farmer's market on Fridays. Also they will be working towards collecting compostable food scraps from apartments and off-campus housing. Keep a watch-out for more info.
Another piece of information, they are working to get an on-campus farming/gardening plot, yet we don't know where that may be.
Green Round Table
This year, we plan to have 4 GRT in total, 2 in each semester. Our 1st GRT will be held 2nd week of 2nd block. This year, we want to meet and discuss issues with Green groups in 1st meeting, and in 2nd meeting try to create a resolution that we could stick to. We are still planning to create a Green Handbook with contact info of heads of the group.
Also we will plan to create more rigid structure (and possibly time limits) so the discussion will not go for hours.
Reaching Freshmen
For campus activities fair, a information bullet points will be made for the freshmen to take a look at.
Catamount
There will be a leadership retreat this Saturday and part of Sunday, with camping. Meets at North side of library, at 9am on Saturday. Bring foods, tent, sleeping bag etc.
Other (maybe not too) small things
CCCA- Co-chairs will be meeting them, to get onto the same page.
EnAct TP- Just like Toilet Paper, there is some idea of creating some newsletter in the bathrooms. More details to come as we figure things out.
Catalyst Article- Submit perhaps once a block or so, to get students interested/involved.
Thank you for all of you who came to the meeting yesterday!
