EnAct meeting minutes, 9/18

Hi all-
Here is what were discussed at the meeting yesterday.

Intro of EnAct - because we are using different format and welcoming freshmen, we had brief intro to sub-groups present at the meeting.
Mission of EnAct - serving as umbrella organization, where sub-groups works on their projects. EnAct meeting will bring those sub-groups together and provide resources and info necessary for successful achievement of the project. Differing from Green Round Table, because this will include administration and faculties as well as all the students interested.

News
CSC expansion - Campus Sustainability Council has expanded and there are more students involved.
PCC update - President Celeste has set aside $30,000 to do more research, and create a baseline of campus energy use
Sustainability Coordinator - Bruce Corriel, our chaplain, will be our bridge to the administration people. Stop-by and say hi to him, if you got a chance.

CSC wants freshman! - There is a spot for any interested freshman to get involved in CSC. Applications available at Worner Desk.
Sustainability intern - 3 positions wanted at communications office. works include but not limited to: advertisement of an event, research on topics etc. For detailed job description, look back a little in this blog.
CCCA Green Reps - we need someone that thinks for the environment. Election is this Thursday!

Sub-Groups Updates
Energizing Colorado Springs - meeting on Thursday, Sept. 20, 1:30 pm at Palmer 121. If you are against the coal-fueled power plant, this is the place to go. Also big event, on Oct. 4th with speaker and expo. For more info, attend the meeting or on the blog.
Investment Club - wants to invest on some sustainable means for CC campus. Ideas and suggestions welcomed. Show-up to the meetings in Palmer Econ department.
Synergy House - hosting more events at the house, joining forces with other green groups.
Food Chained - cast ideas and watch out for more info on blog!
CC Farm - farmers market at Worner on Friday, 11:30-2:00. Pumpkin harvesting on Saturday, meet at Synergy House at 10:00 am.

Projects/report of action
Baca Drilling - 350 written and 350 faxed letters + emails are sent to Fish and Wildlife Service to push Lexam to perform Environmental Impact Assessment.
Eco Fund - Start thinking about what can be done in with some money ($3,000 or so). This is going to be on Spring semester, but it wouldn't hurt to start thinking about possibilities.
