The 2008 Linnemann Lecture

Nominations for the 2008 Linnemann Lecture speaker were requested this morning (see below). Please send your speaker ideas to Sharon Neely in the Environmental Science Program office. We want this to be a democratic, student-organized process this year, so please send in your vote to Sharon. Thanks!

PS
Check out the speakers at Ted.com. Thanks to Wiley Rogers for showing me this great site!

Good morning everyone. I am starting the process to select our guest lecturer for this year's Linnemann Lecture on the Environment. I am asking for nominations from you for possible candidates. Please feel free to dream as big as you wish when considering who you would like to have as a speaker. Our parameters are simple: this year we are looking for a female who is involved in some area of environmental activism, teaching, research, policy, etc. We do have a budget, and can look into their fees at a later date, so dream big! Send your suggestions to me by September 28, complete with a short bio on the individual.

Once we have compiled a list of suggested speakers, the seniors will meet to rank their choices. I will then take the first five and see if any are available (that we can afford!).
